Fix Document Links After Microsoft Migration Manager
Microsoft Migration Manager moves eligible source content to Microsoft 365. ReplaceMagic addresses a different task: finding and repairing supported URLs and paths stored inside the Office documents after their location changes.
Microsoft’s file-share migration guidance explicitly lists conversion of embedded URLs in content as not migrated. Review the current Microsoft migration guide before finalizing scope.
Complementary workflow
- Use Migration Manager’s scan and reports to validate which files and folders can move.
- Record every source file-share path and its SharePoint, Teams or OneDrive destination.
- Use ReplaceMagic to inventory references inside a representative pre-migration sample.
- Run the Microsoft migration pilot and review its item and failure reports.
- Apply tested replacements to copies of the migrated Office documents.
- Rescan, compare with the baseline and obtain owner sign-off before production batches.
